Valley View Cemetery was established and platted as part of the original town site of the Town of Clarkdale. The first burial was of Cornelius G. Shea, a native of Ireland, and took place in August, 1913. In 1959 management of the cemetery was transferred to the Town of Clarkdale. Since that date it has been operated by the Town. Many plots are still available.
In the spring months during run-off (February to April) the Verde River experiences higher than usual flows and can be potentially dangerous to kayakers and paddle boarders, no matter what the experience level might be. The flows during the season range from 100 cubic feet per second to 15,000 cubic feet per second in normal years.
